Expedia Grows its Brazilian Operations to Help Hoteliers Reach the World's Largest Audience of Travelers

RIO DE JANEIRO and BELLEVUE, Wash. – October 21, 2009 Expedia, Inc., the world's leading online travel company, which operates more than 70 Expedia® and® travel booking websites worldwide, announced today the expansion of its Brazil-based operations and growth figures regarding its role in the Brazilian travel market. Travel bookings to Brazil made on  Expedia and sites worldwide have grown 30 percent in the past 12 months. In fact, travelers across the globe have booked more than 90,000 room nights at Brazil hotels through Expedia just this year. This is encouraging news for Brazilian hoteliers, who are working hard to maintain demand and occupancy in this challenging economic environment.
