Barry Diller is the Chairman and Senior Executive of Expedia, Inc.
Mr. Diller has been Chairman and Senior Executive of Expedia since its spin-off from IAC/InterActiveCorp ("IAC") in August 2005.
Mr. Diller is also the Chairman and Senior Executive of IAC. From 1995 to late 2010, Mr. Diller served as the Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer of IAC. IAC is a leading internet company with more than 50 fast-growing, highly-related brands serving loyal consumer audience. IAC's mission is to harness the power of interactivity to make daily life easier and more productive for all people all over the world. Some of IAC's businesses include Ask.com, Match.com, Citysearch, The Daily Beast, Electus and Vimeo.
Since December 1992, beginning with QVC, Mr. Diller served as chief executive for a number of companies engaged in media and interactivity. From October 1984 to April 1992, Mr. Diller served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox, Inc. and was responsible for the creation of Fox Broadcasting Company in addition to Fox's motion picture operations.
Before joining Fox, Mr. Diller served for ten years as the Chairman and Chief Executive of Paramount Pictures Corporation. In March 1983, in addition to Paramount, Mr. Diller became President of the conglomerate's newly formed Entertainment and Communications Group, which included Simon & Schuster, Inc., Madison Square Garden Corporation and SEGA Enterprises, Inc. Prior to joining Paramount, Mr. Diller served as Vice President of Prime Time Television for ABC Entertainment.
Mr. Diller was born in San Francisco and raised in Beverly Hills. He serves on the boards of The Washington Post Company, The Coca-Cola Company and Live Nation Entertainment. He is also a trustee of New York University and serves on the Executive Board for the Medical Sciences at UCLA, the Board of Conservation International and the Board of Councilors for the School of Cinema-Television at the University of Southern California. Mr. Diller is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Victor A. Kaufman is Vice Chairman of Expedia, Inc.
Mr. Kaufman has been Vice Chairman and a director of Expedia since its spin-off from IAC in August 2005.
Mr. Kaufman is also Vice Chairman of IAC/InterActiveCorp ("IAC") and serves in the Office of the Chairman of IAC. Previously, Mr. Kaufman had served in the Office of the Chairman and as Chief Financial Officer of IAC from November 1997 through October 1999. Prior to joining IAC, Mr. Kaufman had served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Savoy Pictures Entertainment, Inc. since March 1992. Mr. Kaufman was also the founding Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tri-Star Pictures, Inc. from 1983 to December 1987, at which time he became President and Chief Executive Officer of Tri-Star's successor company, Columbia Pictures Entertainment, Inc.
Dara Khosrowshahi has served as CEO of Expedia, Inc. since August 2005. Under his leadership, Expedia has grown to become the largest travel company in the world, with more than 100 travel booking sites in more than 60 countries worldwide under a portfolio of online travel brands including Expedia, Egencia, Hotels.com, Hotwire, Venere, and eLong in China.
Previously, Khosrowshahi served as CEO of IAC Travel, a division of InterActiveCorp. Khosrowshahi was instrumental in the initial expansion of IAC's portfolio of travel brands, which now comprise Expedia, Inc. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of IAC, overseeing all of the company's financial matters, and also held the role of Executive Vice President of Operations and Strategic Planning at the company. Prior, Khosrowshahi served as President of USA Networks Interactive, having joined the company in 1998 as Vice President of Strategic Planning.
Prior to joining IAC, Khosrowshahi served as Vice President at Allen & Company LLC.
Khosrowshahi holds a BA in Engineering from Brown University in 1991.
A. George "Skip" Battle is currently Chairman of the Board of Fair Isaac Corporation, a position he has held since 2002 and a member of the Board of OpenTable, Inc.
Mr. Battle previously served as the Executive Chairman of Ask Jeeves, Inc. from January 2004 through July 2005 and as the Chief Executive Officer from December 2000 until January 2004. Mr. Battle was a business consultant and investor and served as a member of the boards of directors of several technology companies from 1995 to 2000. Prior thereto, Mr. Battle served with Andersen Consulting in various roles, including Worldwide Managing Partner, Market Development, until his retirement from Andersen Consulting in 1995. He is also a director of Masters Select Equity Fund, Masters Select International Fund, Masters Select Value Fund and Masters Select Smaller Company Fund (all registered investment companies), Advent Software, Inc., Netflix, Inc. and two nonprofit organizations.
Mr. Battle also served as a director of PeopleSoft, Inc. in 2004, until its acquisition by Oracle Corp., and of Barra, Inc. Mr. Battle holds a B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business
Jonathan Dolgen is a private investor and has served as a senior advisor to Viacom, Inc. (Viacom), a worldwide entertainment and media company, where he provides advisory services to the current chairman and CEO, as well as other members of the company, on an as-requested basis. Dolgen has held this role since July of 2004.
Also since 2004, Dolgen has been a principal of Wood River Ventures, LLC, a private start-up entity that is seeking investment and other opportunities, primarily in the media sector.
Dolgen previously served as chairman and CEO of the Viacom Entertainment Group, where he oversaw various operations of Viacom's businesses, which during 2003 and 2004 primarily included the divisions that engaged in motion pictures production and distribution, television production and distribution, regional theme parks, theatrical exhibition, and publishing.
Prior to joining Viacom, Dolgen held various positions at Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc., Twentieth Century Fox and Fx, Inc., and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Dolgen holds a JD degree from New York University and a BS degree from Cornell University.
William R. Fitzgerald has been a director of Expedia since March 2006. He has served as a Senior Vice President of Liberty Media Corporation ("Liberty Media") since 2000. In addition, he serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Media Corporation. Prior to joining Liberty Media, Mr. Fitzgerald served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Operations Administration for AT&T Broadband (formerly known as Tele-Communications, Inc.) from 1999 to 2000 and was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of TCI Communications, Inc. from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Fitzgerald received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business and a master's degree from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
Craig A. Jacobson was elected as a director of Expedia in December 2007. Mr. Jacobson was a founding partner at the law firm of Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman & Richman, L.L.P. where he has practiced entertainment law for the past 20 years. Mr. Jacobson is a member of the Board of Trustees at the USC Fine Arts School and is a member of the Board of Directors of Aver Media, a privately-held Canadian lending institution.
Peter Kern is currently a managing partner of InterMedia Partners, LP (InterMedia), a private equity firm that invests in media companies. Prior to working at InterMedia, Kern was senior managing director and principal of Alpine Capital LLC, a media investment and advisory firm.
Kern joined Alpine when the company merged with his own firm, Gemini Associates, Inc. (Gemini), in the summer of 2001. Gemini was founded as a large-cap M&A and strategic advisory firm. Prior to founding Gemini, Kern was at the Home Shopping Network and Whittle Communications.
Kern holds a BS from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
